The Bleyzer Family Story

Many of you may know our family's story - Refusnik immigrants from Ukraine that vowed never to return to Soviet soil. But when the Soviet Union fell apart, Michael and Lev Bleyzer (brothers), along with their dear friend and partner, Valeriy Dema, established SigmaBleyzer Investment Group as the first private Western investment firm in an independent Ukraine.

Since operations began in 1994, SigmaBleyzer has raised and invested more than $1 billion in Ukraine, employing over 30,000 Ukrainian citizens across more than 100 companies and all 27 regions of Ukraine.

In 2001, we established The Bleyzer Foundation to support and promote the successful transition of emerging economies into healthy, democratic market-based economies. In 2002, the Foundation published The Bleyzer Initiative: Completing the Economic Transition in FSU Countries, a study that identified the key drivers of quality investment climates in over 100 developing countries.

In 2002, we launched the Daar Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization to provide humanitarian support to Ukrainians in need. After Russia’s illegal occupation of Crimea in 2014, Daar collected financial and physical donations for humanitarian aid, including personal protective equipment, and delivered it directly to the front lines.

Today, like many of you around the world, we watch in horror and anxiously await daily check-ins with our remaining family, friends and colleagues in Ukraine. We will not stand by while they suffer.

Stand with us.

Stand with the people of Ukraine.

Stand for freedom.

Слава Україні!
